I've been the car guy since I was a kid. When someone in my family or my circle of friends is shopping for a car, they call me first. I have never minded, because cars are my passion.
I've since worked on most sides of buying a car, and V Knows Cars is where I put what I learned, for free.
Where the experience comes from
I started my career at companies that helped car shoppers buy and finance their cars. Later I sold cars at a large auto group, where buyers left reviews I'm proud of. A few are below.
At Cars.com I led product management, working on how shoppers search, compare and decide. On the side, I ran the shopper community for CarDealershipGuy and helped more than 3,000 people through their buying journey.
Outside of cars, I've spent my career leading product teams. I co-founded Zenfolio, a software company that grew to tens of millions in revenue and was acquired, and I led Live Mail anti-spam work at Microsoft. I hold an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas and a computer science degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

How I think about car buying
Most of the stress at a dealership comes from surprises, like a fee nobody explained or a document you didn't bring. The calculators and guides here are meant to clear those up before you arrive.
